For hairdressers · Free

A free website audit for UK hairdressers.

Every hairdresser deserves a website that fills the chair and says plainly what a client will pay. The same three sides, and a fourth a salon needs: your price list, reviews and booking page against the UK consumer rules that bite a salon hardest, and how your colour bookings and hair-type wording read. You get a one-page written audit, every finding checked by a person, and a free call to go through it.

Prices, reviews and bookings

Your price list and your bookings.

Whether your prices, reviews and booking page say what the consumer rules ask, and whether a client booking colour or a service for their hair type is told what they need.

We point out what we noticed and the rule or advice it touches. We do not give legal advice and we never say a site complies: you and your adviser decide.

The other three sides

What clients, search engines and AI assistants see.

The same checks every business gets, read for a salon: whether a client can find the service, see what it costs and book a time, and whether Google and the assistants can describe what you offer correctly.

  1. What a client sees

Whether a client can find your services and what they cost, and book a time.

    • Whether a phone number, an email or a booking is easy to reach from every page
    • How the site works on a phone, from the first screen to the enquiry
    • Whether the first screen says plainly what the business does and who it is for
    • Links that lead nowhere, and forms that ask for more than they need
  2. What a search engine sees

Whether Google and Bing can tell what each page is about, and show it well.

    • A title and a description on each page that say what it is
    • Whether the business, its services and its contact details are marked up for search engines
    • How quickly the page loads on a phone
    • What a link to the site shows when it is shared on WhatsApp, Instagram or Facebook
  3. What an AI assistant sees

Whether assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Google’s AI answers can find your answers and describe you correctly.

    • Whether the questions your customers ask are answered in plain words on the page
    • Whether the business is described the same way everywhere it appears
    • Whether the important words are on the page itself, not only inside pictures
    • Whether anything stops search and AI crawlers from reaching the site

What you get

One page, and a call if you want it.

A one-page written audit by email: what we found, the evidence for each finding, and what to fix first.

Your salon’s audit

What a client sees
Whether a client can find your services and what they cost, and book a time.
What a search engine sees
Whether Google and Bing can tell what each page is about, and show it well.
What an AI assistant sees
Whether assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Google’s AI answers can find your answers and describe you correctly.
What the consumer rules see
Whether your prices, reviews and booking page say what the consumer rules ask, and whether a client booking colour or a service for their hair type is told what they need.
What to fix first
The changes that matter most, in the order we would make them.
  • A free call to walk through it, if you would like one. Nothing to buy and nothing to sign.

  • Automated checks do the first pass. A person then goes through your site and checks every finding before the audit reaches you, and nothing goes in that we have not seen on your site.

How it works

Four steps, nothing to sign.

  1. Ask

  2. We look

We go through your site from all three sides and check every finding by hand.

  3. You get the audit

A one-page written audit by email, with the evidence for each finding.

  4. We talk it through

A free call to go through it and answer your questions, if you want one.

Questions

The hairdresser audit, answered.

Why does a hairdresser need its own audit?

Because a salon’s price list and booking page are where the consumer rules bite: prices that start “from”, prices that depend on length, booking fees and reviews. The rules apply to every business, but few sell the way a salon does.

Can we still price by length, or say “from”?

Yes, when the “from” price is one a client could actually pay, and the way a price is worked out is shown as clearly as the price. The CMA’s guidance on price transparency explains how.

Do we have to patch test before colour?

We know of no law that says a salon must, and the audit never says it does. The NHS advises testing for a reaction at least 48 hours ahead and following the dye’s instructions, so the audit looks at whether your colour bookings tell a client about it.

Can you tell me whether our website complies?

No, and nobody but your adviser should. We point out what we noticed and the rule it touches, with the source, so you and your adviser can decide quickly.

Is the hairdresser audit free too?

Yes, on the same terms: nothing to pay, nothing to sign, and a free call to go through it if you want one.
